STEM – hands-on, practical fun

We are working with schools, youth groups, the Department for Transport and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) organisations as we develop exciting, fun gliding-based STEM activities as well as getting youngsters into the air and introducing them to great gliding and aviation role models.

We are proud to be Ambassadors for the DfT’s Reach for the Sky programme.

INSPIRE your class or youth group with practical sessions led by our enthusiastic team.  Airfield visits let young people try a wide range of activities around gliding and GROW life skills as they experience and love STEM in action. Meet our COMMUNITY of inspiring, interesting role models.

Activity Days

STEM resources

These National Curriculum-based activities at Key Stages 2, 3 and 4 cover elements of Maths, Science and Design and Technology and are all fun and practical challenges.  They are led by our inspirational gliding role models and consist of a self-contained video presentation with exciting in-cockpit footage which lead students through real decisions affecting glider pilots and engineers.  The units include team activities and fun competitions.

Each activity comes with comprehensive student and teacher notes, and can be delivered by any teacher without a glider pilot present – but our team would love to join you in person or by Zoom to help inspire your class!

The resources are also ideal for youth groups as most require little or no additional equipment or materials readily available around the home.

All resources are FREE, just subscribe below to receive a link to the resource pages.
